Founded in 1788, Colel Chabad is the oldest and largest social welfare organization providing for the health and wellbeing of Israel’s neediest population.

This past year, and for the foreseeable future, the need is greater than ever due to the COVID-19 crisis. Thousands of formerly middle class households have been without a paycheck since March, and have turned to us to help feed their families.

The annual Colel Chabad International Awards Dinner is a major source of the funds needed to fight poverty and hunger in Israel.

Without the Dinner it would be difficult to maintain our normal commitment, let alone rise to the newest challenges.

Which is why, this year our Guest of Honor is you — for stepping up now.

Which is why we will not – indeed cannot – forego this year’s dinner. Therefore, we are holding a virtual dinner via Zoom. The Dinner will honor all of you who, despite these challenging times, are rising to the occasion and doing your share to ease the hunger and pain of our brethren in Israel.

Colel Chabad of R' Meir Baal Haness - the oldest continuous tzedakah in Israel - was established by the first Lubavitcher Rebbe and founder of the Chabad Lubavitch movement, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, obm, and has been overseen by each successive Lubavitcher Rebbe since.

In our time, the seventh Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, considered Colel Chabad a personal and most cherished cause.
