Home Heating and Social Welfare

Most homes in Israel -- and virtually all homes of the poor – lack central heating or even space heaters. During the winter months these homes, especially in Jerusalem and Northern Israel get bone-chillingly cold.  For the very young and the very old the freezing temperatures often result in serious respiratory illnesses.

Colel Chabad's annual winter heating program provides space heaters, fuel or fuel subsidies for hundreds of households that would otherwise be unbearably cold.
