More than 2,000 families (over 8,000 individuals) are able to shop with dignity for their holiday needs before Passover and Rosh Hashanah thanks to this unique program pioneered by Colel Chabad. Instead of receiving handouts of food and clothing, these families - many of them widows and orphans - use special Colel Chabad vouchers which allow them to proudly shop and make their own choices at leading retailers in key Israeli cities.
In addition, nearly twenty three thousand of Israel's neediest families receive Food Baskets with everything they need - including meat, poultry, packaged groceries, even paper goods - so that they can celebrate the holidays without fear of hunger
