Front page news in Israel... and it's NOT good!
'Yediot Ahronot' (Israel’s leading newspaper) - Tuesday, March 3, 2009 -	'SOCIAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS COLLAPSING' 5 Weeks before Passover: As the need skyrockets, organizations that provide food are cutting back by 50%... 'Only a miracle will help them for Passover'. Jerusalem Post - Wednesday, March 4, 2009 - 'RECESSION A CATASTROPHE FOR CHARITIES' Food distribution agencies cite ‘worst-case scenario that’s going to get worse as unemployment grows. It has been predicted that many charities could close down in the next few months due to the difficult economic climate...
Times are tough for everyone. But for Israel's poorest of the poor 'tough' equals relentless 'hunger'
And at the worst time possible - right now, before Passover.
Food distribution charities are collapsing throughout Israel. The barrage of desperate pleas reaching Colel Chabad - Israel's oldest and largest food distribution network - creates a truly horrifying dilemma. How can we choose between radically shrinking the size of desperately needed food baskets in order to reach more people, or saying 'no' to thousands of destitute families who never had to beg before.
Only You can make the difference.
Yes, things are tough even here in America. But at least we're not going hungry.
If ever there was a time to share what we have... it's now.
If ever there was a time to give even more - much more - it's now when the number of hungry families is skyrocketing... and the organizations they would normally turn to have shut their doors
Say 'YES' to Israel's poorest this Passover.
